The year 2016 is shaping up to be the year of the celebrity wedding. Hot on the heels of the nuptials of It girls Solenn, Georgina, and Belle is another gorgeous destination wedding: that of Cristalle Belo Henares’. Cristalle, the eldest daughter of celebrity doctor Vicki Belo and quite the power woman herself, wed Australian hotelier (and almost-Storm Trooper!) Justin Pitt, last September in the famous Lake Como in Italy. After seeing so many weddings this year, we feel like it would take much more to impress us.
But Cristalle Belo is not someone who can easily be outdone. Here are four reasons why her wedding is definitely one for the books.
1. All the literary references
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you simply without problems or pride:
I love you in this way because I know no other way of loving,
but this in which there is no I nor you,

There is poetry in words and poetry in images—this video had both. We couldn’t help but fall in love with love all over again, what with the entourage exchanging possibly the most romantic verses ever written in the history of the universe. Talk about cultured! We’re bookmarking these two scenes from the video at 01:28 and 4:00, just in case we need to summon a quote for the next toast or anniversary card we’re giving to our dear friends.

2. Marriage 101

Let’s face it: who doesn’t want to wake up everyday next to the man/woman of their dreams? Who doesn’t want to watch the sunset disappear in an orange haze while holding hands with their best friend and soulmate, fingers intertwined? Anyone? No one? But as romantic as weddings are, many a couple will tell you that marriage is not all sweet surprises nor grand gestures. At 00:37, the couple is reminded about what it really takes to make a relationship and a marriage work. Take notes, people!

3. That bridal boat!
Oh no, she didn’t! Talk about epic. We salute all couples who make it easier for their guests to shuttle from the ceremony to the reception at a destination wedding. But throwing a party on a boat on the way to the actual party? That’s something else entirely. All hail, Cristalle Belo Henares! (Or is it Cristalle Belo Henares Pitt now? She’s got as many magic wedding tricks as she has names, we’ll give her that.)
Props to Bob Nicolas too, for making us all the more jealous when he scored these sailing-away-in-the-sunset scenes with Ruelle’s “I get to love you”. Too much sugar. We almost can’t take it anymore! Well, almost.
4. What lies beneath (the diamond)
Cristalle Belo’s fiancé had done his research to find out what design would fit his princess. That’s something all would-be husbands can learn from, even though not everyone can travel to Israel to look for the right stone to have custom-set by Stephen Lloyd. In the end, Justin Pitt had made a 3.1-carat solitaire diamond ring with a halo of smaller diamonds on a diamond-studded band. You would think that was enough. But no, he went ahead and had an orange gemstone placed underneath the diamond. We can’t even see it, but it’s there. Kinda like love itself, right?
Cristalle Belo’s wedding may be one of the last celebrity weddings of the year, but it is surely not the least. She proves that it isn’t simply the “celebrity” that brings wow factor to a wedding, but the couple’s careful consideration of each other and all who came to witness their special day. But reciting a couple of great sonnets wouldn’t hurt either!
