Classic Romantic Wedding: Marsala, Old Rose & Blush

It is every little girl’s dream to have a classic romantic wedding. They dream of a prince dressed up in his white tunic waiting for his princess donning her beautiful long white wedding gown. With a touch of marsala, old rose & blush with gold accent, Jay & Maan’s wedding looked like a page out of a romantic fairytale. 

We can also say the same about this couple’s love story. As Maan shared with us,

“All along alam ko na sya na yung “the one” ko. Kahit topakin ako at paranoid I had that feeling na sya na talaga. Right from the day na sa loob ng chapel nya ako tinanong kung pwede syang manligaw.

Sya yung hiniling ko kay Lord. Yung araw-araw akong liligawan, pipilitin akong intindhin kahit unreasonable na ako , malaki ang takot sa Diyos, matinding magmahal sa pamilya nya at mahal din ng sobra ang pamilya ko.” 

Indeed, this woman’s fervent prayers were answered. 12 years ago, their love story bloomed while they were still studying in UST. It was also there that Jay decided to propose to Maan. For his proposal, it’s as if Jay took note to learn from one of our proposal fails.

“I was in Cebu when he went to our home and asked for my parents’ permission before he proposed. I had no idea at all.”

Jay planned for them to attend the Sunday mass at UST chapel at 7am. I know what you’re all thinking: Who proposes to his girlfriend at 6 in the morning? Apparently, Jay’s one. And for 2 good reasons:

1) He wanted a solo picture with Maan in front of the UST main building.

2) To go to the Mass to celebrate the engagement (which we find really sweet).

When asked what their Top Knotter moment during their classic romantic wedding:

All of them (suppliers) gave their 101% during our special day. They really exceeded our expectations. It is also such a blessing that they also find time to still reach out to us even when our wedding is already over. They will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Jay and Maan have only two things they want all soon-to-weds to keep in mind :

1. Focus on the essence of your wedding

The essence of a wedding is tying the knot with your lifetime partner with your loved ones celebrating the moment with you. What can be happier than that?

2. It’s all about scheduling and making time

We had a year of preparation but that doesn’t mean I was into the wedding preparation each day. I would normally take 20-30 minutes of my time to update the worksheets I have — worksheets which were given by our on-the-day coordinator. This 20-30 minutes allocation of time is not on a daily basis. No matter how little the progress is, what is important is that the completion will be reached sooner or later.
