Singapore: Janelle & Mark’s Engagement Session

September 26, 2016

Having fallen in love with the country where they are both currently based, Janelle and Mark decided to have their engagement session in Singapore.

Singapore is a significant part of their relationship, which is why they chose to shoot on location in different areas around this economic giant. They wanted to show how beautiful Singapore is. And through their photos, we’ll also see, how romantic a setting it could also be.

Where in Singapore?

The couple chose three special places in Singapore for their prenup shoot. These are the places they are really fascinated with while being in the country.

They wanted to capture the strength & beauty of the country as epitomized by the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and the country’s cityscape. The setting and their styling somehow give out a romantic-corporate feel.  It could very well be a slice off their typical corporate day but just picking out the romantic highlights and having it captured.

In contrast to their city-shoot, they then went to the Singapore Botanic Garden.

“The nature scenery was a perfect location for an escape from the busy life in the city”

It seems the couple really wanted to capture their life in Singapore as a couple. Aside from scenes that capture images that represent their corporate life and weekend moments, they have their third set up in an out of town vacation setting. For this, they hired off to Sentosa Island. Both self-confessed beach lovers, the man-made white sandy beach of this place is the perfect location for them.

Looking through the photos, you can see how much they enjoyed doing the shoot together.  I could practically hear Janelle’s giggle through the photos and it’s heartwarming to see how Mark just lovingly smiles at her.

So we asked them how their engagement session experience was for them.

“We were a bit nervous at first because it’s our first time to do a photo shoot together. Good thing that my sister and my friends came over to help and assist us with everything. Big shout out to my good friend and our photographer, Jed who has been very patient with us. He made everything easy and very comfortable for both of us. Working with the people you really know and you can trust is really a big thing.

Overall, we really had a great time.

Big thanks also to my sister Jamae Estrelon, and Our dear friend, Amfi Joaquin and Aimee Aquino for helping us all through out the session”

Having good friends to join in on the engagement session would definitely make things more fun & relaxed for a couple having their love immortalized in photos.

Here are their two crucial tips for other soon-to-weds planning their own engagement shoot:

1) Consider the photographer whom you can really work with.

“(It should be someone) whom you can trust everything to and willing to listen to your ideas. It’s very important because they’ll help you to look good and feel good during the whole session. Remember, photos are memories that can last forever. It’s something that you’ll be proud of to show from generation to generation.”

Of their photographer, they have this to say:

“He’s very hands on and have a lot of bright idea. Genius! I love every shot that we had. He’s very hands on and have a lot of bright idea. Genius! I love every shot that we had.”

2) Consider the place where you would like to have the photoshoot.

“You should always have this wonderful feeling (when you think about) how wonderful the place and the ambiance is. So that if one day you’ll come back to this place, you’ll always have a wonderful memory in your heart and in your mind that you’ll cherish for a lifetime.”
