As far as weddings go, rustic has been a popular theme possibly because there’s something distinctly romantic with the rawness of the components that go into putting it together. There’s rustic vintage, rustic chic; and then, there’s woodland rustic, which is what Martin & Ice went for in their overall wedding theme.
“Our wedding theme is woodland rustic. We told our stylist that we would like to have our prenup concept tied to out wedding theme. They proposed a number of mood boards for us to choose from and fell immediately in love with 3 concepts: Woodland Casual, Rustic Melody and Sweet Enchantment. The treatment of the prenup was a bit like an editorial, something that we surprisingly enjoyed doing with the knowledge that we might not be able to do the same again. The venue, having both the woodland feel & rustic vibe was perfect for our theme.”
We love the different woodland rustic renditions from casual to enchanting. For this shoot, it seems it was their stylist, Tipping Point Collective, which was instrumental not only in setting the look but bringing everyone together (the couple & suppliers) to have a smooth prenup session. Martin & Ice found their woodland rustic prenup as a great experience.
“It was great! Having a stylist helped a lot. We just came there and everything was prepared. Our stylist coordinated with all the suppliers – gave them the look we wanted to achieve and then a brief on the theme. We enjoyed posing and was very at ease with our photographer & videographer.”
Martin & Ice shared with us what & how to prepare for one’s prenup shoot to avoid any unnecessary stress, enjoy the day and get the photos that you want. Here’s what they took out of their woodland rustic prenup experience:
1) Have a dress rehearsal.
2) For the ladies: Bring different kinds of bras!
Though a silicon bra or free bra is advisable, different outfits might require different bra types.
3) Get the HMUA onboard early on.
Let your HMUA know what you are wearing, the concept/theme and the look you want to achieve.
4) Mind your hair.
Do not use hair conditioner on the day of the prenup. The drier the hair the better, if you want your hair styled a certain way and to stay that way throughout the shoot. Ice had very soft hair so her curls didn’t hold for long.
5) Prepare to get toasted
Our photographer & videographer prefer to use the natural light, so madaming bilad shots. Best to bring sunblock.
6) Bring lots of facial tissue
To wipe off the sweat caused by the ‘bilad’ scenes.
7) Set some mood music.
Bring a Bluetooth speaker for some mood music. It eliminates the dead air and makes everything less awkward.
8) Trust your suppliers.
For that 7th tip, we have something to add that you might love. To save you the trouble of looking for some mood music during your shoot, just log on to Spotify and look for Wedding Inspirations Playlist by The Top Knotters. It’s our specially curated playlist that would be the perfect background to your shoot. That should create the right mood for you where you might even stumble upon songs you might want to use for your wedding as well.
